GP Matters' Medical Director, Dr Carole McAlister has been delivering easy
access personalised healthcare since 2002.
Having qualified from the University of Edinburgh in 1988, her training having
taken her to Australia, New Zealand and Nepal, she then worked as an NHS GP in
south Edinburgh.
She came to the private sector after a year spent improving her level of
Spanish in Barcelona.
Her interests include womens' health, diabetes and cardiovascular medicine. She
achieved a distinction in the University of Warwick Diploma in Diabetes in
2000.
In 2004 she completed an Allergy Degree Module through the National Respiratory
Training Centre at the University of Warwick. Carole has also worked as a GP
Specialist in Allergy
at Yorkhill Hospital in Glasgow.
The practice of Acupuncture
is something she has been doing for 10 years, and she continues to attend
courses and meetings through the British Medical Acupuncture Society to
maintain her skills.
IIn
2008 she undertook the "Facial Aesthetics in General Practice" course
and subsequently she studied for the "Advance Facial Aesthetics and Dermal
Fillers" certificate for Doctors.
Carole
undergoes GP appraisal by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (Appraiser Number GG16)
in a yearly basis.
